Here we have broken down each ingredient in our Must Have Moisturiser
Aqua (water)
It helps to bind everything together.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Fractionated Coconut Oil)
Fractionated Coconut Oil is a fantastic moisturising ingredient that does not clog your pores. It gives your skin a smooth, silky and healthy glow.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera Gel)
Aloe Vera is a brilliant moisturising agent perfect for dry skin. Due to its fast absorption, this also makes it an alternative to hydrate oily skin. It contains several vitamins, including B & C, folic acid, and carotene (a precursor of vitamin A), deeply nourishing the skin. It is perfect for soothing & healing burns and eczema and reducing acne inflammation.
Sodium Hyaluronate (derivative of Hyaluronic Acid)
Hyaluronic Acid is a moisturising wonder. Hyaluronic acid draws and holds water, bringing moisture to your skin surface and moisturising your skin throughout the day.
As skin ages, it reduces its ability to retain water resulting in loss of firmness and fine lines. In conjunction with its antioxidant properties, the rehydrating of the skin from hyaluronic acid provides a plumper appearance and reduced fine lines.
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil)
Jojoba penetrates the skin quickly and is suitable for all skin types making it an ideal ingredient. It has an extensive list of benefits. Jojoba oil is a humectant ingredient, meaning it strengthens your skin’s protective barrier to prevent moisture loss. Its moisturising benefits aid with healing by soothing dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Jojoba oil contains antimicrobial and antifungal properties helping kill acne-causing bacteria. Also, it regulates sebum production, further preventing acne caused by clogged pores.
Jojoba is a great anti-aging ingredient. In addition, the natural form of Vitamin E in Jojoba oils helps fight against free radicals. These antioxidants also increase the skin’s production of collagen, creating firm and youthful skin.
Cetearyl Alcohol
Cetearyl alcohol helps soften the skin, making it efficient for healing dry skin. In addition, it is considered safe and nontoxic due to its chemical structure. Therefore, it is permitted by the FDA to be listed as an “alcohol-free” ingredient in products.
It also helps give thickness to our moisturiser.
Glycerine
It helps strengthen the skin’s barrier to prevent the permeability of water. This locks moisture into your skin, preventing dryness and irritation, leaving it smooth and hydrated. In addition, it is considered non-allergenic, making it perfect for acne-prone skin.
Linum Usitatissimum (Flaxseed Oil)
An anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant and a hydrator. Flaxseed oil is high in Vitamin E, aiding with skin conditions such as rosacea and psoriasis and the healing of scars & acne.
Persea Gratissima (Avocado Oil)
Avocado oil is high in valuable nutrients such as Vitamins A, B1, B2, D and E. This gives it strong nourishing properties that smooth dry skin and alleviates conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. In addition, these nutrients have anti-inflammatory effects, reducing the redness and inflammation associated with acne.
Avocado oil can significantly increase the level of collagen in the skin, giving smooth and plump skin.
Terminalia Ferdinandiana Fruit (Kakadu Plum)
The Kakadu Plum fruit has the highest known Vitamin C concentration of any single natural food source globally. In addition, it is known to have ten times the amount of Vitamin C found in other fruits, making it an excellent antioxidant. For antioxidant capacity, this is a superfood leaving your skin bright and youthful.
Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract (Chamomile Extract)
Chamomile extract has strong anti-inflammatory properties, which helps to alleviate redness and swelling. This helps soothe sensitive skin aiding with conditions like rosacea.
Chamomile contains polyphenols and phytochemicals known to increase cell regeneration and thus help reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
Santalum Acuminatum Fruit (Quandong Extract)
Quandong has excellent anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties making it a valuable addition to any skincare product.
The Quandong contains more vitamin C than an orange and is also a good source of Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid, Rutin, Folate and Magnesium. This gives it antioxidant and hydrating properties, leaving the skin smooth and youthful.
Glyceryl Stearate Citrate
Used to help combine water and oil properties.
It acts as a lubricate for the skin, giving it a soft and smooth appearance. It quickly absorbs and penetrates the skin. It helps strengthen the skin’s surface barrier, preventing water loss, keeping the skin well moisturised.
Sorbitan Olivate
Used to help combine the water and oil components of the moisturiser. It provides a deep moisturising effect with excellent spreadability and no soapy effect.
Ricinuo Communis Seed Oil (Castor oil)
Castor Oil contains high levels of ricinoleic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid and linoleic acid. Ricinoleic acid is an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory powerhouse. In addition, ricinoleic acid can inhibit the growth of bacteria that causes acne—leaving you with clear skin.
Oleic acid, stearic acid and linoleic acid all work together to strengthen your skin’s barrier, preventing the permeability of water. This locks moisture into your skin, keeping it soft and supple for hours on end.
Sorbitan Caprylate (and) Propanediol (and) Benzoic Acid
Antimicrobial to keep bacteria away and keep our moisturiser fresher for longer.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
Niacinamide (also known as Nicotinamide) is essential for healthy skin cells metabolism. It helps restore cellular energy and repair damaged cells, making it a fighter against internal and external stressors that lead to aging.
Niacinamide has also been found to prevent pigment transfer within the skin, reducing the appearance of pigmentation.
Niacinamide strengthens the skin barrier and works to fight inflammation, leaving healthy, glowing and hydrated skin. For this reason, it is excellent for people with skin conditions such as rosacea or eczema.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and repairing damages caused by free radicals, making it a potent antioxidant. This protection extends to stopping damage to the skin from UV rages, pollutants and aging.
Vitamin E has moisturising, healing and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, it works to strengthen the skin’s barrier, smoothing and calming the skin.
